Reading circles, author talks and philosophy nights, upstairs, after the shop closes.
The Long Evening began in 2016 as four people staying behind on a Wednesday to finish an argument about a novel. It now runs most weeks between October and May, in the room above the shop, which seats between twelve and twenty depending on how honest we are being about the chairs.
Everything is free except the reading circles, which cost the price of the book. Nothing requires you to have finished the reading, though the room is more fun when you have.

To hold a seat, email us with the date. We keep a waiting list and we use it; if you cannot come, telling us frees a chair for somebody who can.
